For most pathways, starting 9–18 months in advance is sensible. Scholarships, medicine, creative programmes and complex recognition require more time.

Spring and autumn entry are common. GKS and university deadlines begin well before the semester.

Universities publish fees, often by semester and faculty. Laboratory, medical and creative programmes may add costs.

Seoul is generally more expensive than regional cities. Housing, food, transport, insurance and deposit must be included.

Student status depends on the course type. The offer, finances, housing and university documentation are checked for visa and registration.

University housing and its deadline are checked first. Private rental is considered only after the contract, registration, deposit and transport links are reviewed.

Part-time work requires compliance with status, permission and restrictions linked to language or academic progress.

Post-study options depend on the level, profession and immigration status: further study, an eligible post-study route, or returning with an international qualification.
